Lightning Memory was founded in 1995 as a division of Lightning Technology, Inc. We began operations as a two-man company distributing IBM and Compaq memory upgrades. We slowly built up our database through extensive research and business alliances with some of the top manufacturers in the business. Today more than 100 brands and 5000 products later, we provide a broad array of memory upgrades to fulfill any of your requirements. Lightning Memory is our brand, and we are a memory supplier, we focus on nothing else so all of our resources are focused on making sure we get it right.

Today, roughly one-half of our revenue is derived from our international partners with the other half derived in the U.S.A.

Our customers include: Distributors, VAR's, OEM's, Integrators and Resellers. We have a knowledgeable, multi-lingual staff ready to assist you in Spanish, Portuguese or English.

From the beginning, our commitment to customer service has been the rock behind our organization. We want to make sure that every transaction is perfect. If not, we solve problems quickly and without any pressure.

Our Products

We outsource all of our manufacturing to contract manufacturers in the local and international market. We find this has shortened lead times and has allowed Lightning to focus on product research and sales. All of our products are guaranteed to meet or exceed the original equipment manufacturers (OEM) specifications. We thoroughly test all products before shipment and most orders are shipped out the same day.

Special packaging requirements are no problem with Lightning. Just speak with your sales rep and orders can be custom packaged to your needs.

Our Market

The third-party memory manufacturing industry was born in the last decade or so as part of the information revolution. Sophisticated software, faster processors and an increase in the use of portable computer all attribute to the need for ever-expanding memory.

In the last decade, the industry has seen tremendous growth. In the midst of all this, Lightning's founder realized that a huge segment of this market was virtually untapped. "We realized that the smaller customers were not getting the attention they deserve. Right from the start, no one else seemed to focus on the small company niche." Lightning's focus on memory upgrades proved to be key.

Early on, we were able to establish a presence in this market and "hold on for the ride." The industry's tremendous growth over the past few years indicates that memory upgrades are essential to businesses as they move to faster processors and more dynamic software applications.

And while technology and product development is ever-changing, the memory module market is here to stay. A December 2003 article in Semiconductor magazine states that, according to the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA). in San Jose, CA., our market was an estimated $18.4 billion in 2003. And by the year 2005, Growth is anticipated to reach $31.1 billion.
